The Future of The PIKE House

With a growing chapter and an expanding university, the Zeta Theta Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha is proud to announce the development of a new chapter house that honors our history while embracing the future.

Designed by esteemed alumnus Adam Smith (Fall ’01, Beta Psi), this two-story, 10,095-square-foot residence reflects both tradition and modern functionality, while paying tribute to the house that once stood on Belvin Street. The front elevation features a grand entrance with a spacious porch, complemented by classic brickwork, tall windows for natural light, and an elevated roofline that enhances the house’s outward presence.

The first floor, spanning 3,615 square feet, serves as the heart of the home—fostering both brotherhood and academia. It includes a central living area for gatherings, multiple study rooms, a communal kitchen and dining space, and a large warehouse area for chapter meetings.

Upstairs, the 1,623-square-foot second floor offers additional bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a secondary living room, and a private balcony. Additional features such as a porte-cochere, an elevated catwalk, and a driveway provide added comfort and accessibility for those residing in the house.

This project isn’t just about building a home—it’s about making history. As we break ground on this house, we are also laying the foundation for the first true Greek Row at Texas State University, with Zeta Theta proudly at the heart of it all.

Built with the idea that the Zeta Theta Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha is back and here to stay, this new home ensures ample space for our 85-man (and growing) brotherhood. It allows us to continue expanding while benefiting from a live-in chapter experience—fostering stronger bonds, increased participation, and greater academic success.

Presidential Testimonial

Since taking over as president of the Zeta Theta chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha here at Texas State late in the Fall of ‘24, I came into office with a vision of fundamentally changing the atmosphere surrounding this chapter’s historic name by pushing these men to excel in just about any category there is to offer. Something I had noticed leading up to that point was that the chapter hadn’t had the opportunity to truly devote themselves to a goal like when we had all worked on the petition to charter just 2 years prior, but with the reality of this house on the horizon, I took it as the opportunity to relight that fire once again. Be it philanthropically, academically, socially, or financially, my goal for this group of guys is to put us at the top of the list and be the organization that every other fraternity here at this university is forced to look up to. In just this semester alone, we have already accomplished amazing things in the form of philanthropy dollars raised for a single event, involvement and interaction with multiple influential members of the city of San Marcos, and praise from not only the IFC community, but the university itself.

The potential of this property goes so far beyond just bringing attention and glory to the PIKE name but has the ability to systematically alter the future of the Greek community on this campus forever. A house like this paired with an organization like ours would demand the attention and respect of Texas State as a whole, waking up the alumni associations of so many to act like ours and potentially mark the beginning of a genuine Greek row. With Texas State inching closer and closer to the status of a tier 1 university, fraternity life must grow with it or else it faces extinction, and I have every intention of putting Zeta Theta PIKE in the best possible position to lead that charge. Investing in this house, investing in this chapter, is investing in history in the making.
